Which keywords to track
Don't track 500 keywords. Track 10-25 that actually drive your business. Mix three types: 1) money keywords (terms people search right before buying — "plumber houston," "best CRM for small business"), 2) brand keywords (your business name and product names — these should always be #1), and 3) content keywords (informational searches your blog targets).
Ignore vanity keywords with no commercial intent. Ranking #1 for "what is SEO" sounds nice but won't pay your rent.
