Free Keyword Overview Tool
Keyword overview gives you everything you need to decide whether a keyword is worth targeting: monthly search volume, keyword difficulty (0-100), cost-per-click in Google Ads, competition level, search intent, and 12-month trend.
Use it before you write any piece of content. If a keyword has 50 searches a month and difficulty 75, it's not worth a 2000-word article. If it has 3000 searches and difficulty 25, drop everything and write it today.
The most underrated metric is the trend line. A keyword with stable or growing search volume over 12 months is a safe bet. A keyword that's down 60% year-over-year is a dying topic — don't invest in it even if current volume looks decent.
What 'good' looks like for a small site
For a site with authority under 30, target keywords with: volume 200-2000/month, difficulty under 35, and clear commercial or informational intent. That's the sweet spot where you can rank in 2-4 months with good content.
Ignore keywords with volume over 10,000 — they're dominated by big sites and won't yield results in any reasonable timeframe. Ignore keywords with volume under 100 unless they're transactional ("buy X in Y city") — the traffic isn't worth the effort.
